After the Jungle Cruise we headed back to Tomorrowland where we rode Star Tours, where there was no line to speak of. We got the row we requested, the back row. My feet didn't touch the ground once I was in the seat and buckled in. And I was tossed around like a ragdoll. My tummy didn't like this at all. I'm not a big fan of elevators, I don't care for that weightless feeling and that's what Star Tours did to me. I have to remember, no back row for me!From Star Tours, we went back to Adventureland where we used the passes for Indiana Jones, then we went on Pirates. You know, there's nothing like the sound of many adults all singing the pirate song. It was very uplifting. *lol*
It was a little after noon and we split up for lunch. Liz had to leave to let their dogs out of the house (Liz lives fairly close to the Disney Resort) and Brian and I went back to the hotel room, where I made turkey sandwiches. We had made arrangements to all meet at the Golden Horseshoe at 3:15 for the Billy Hill show. We were done eating early and went back to the park.
Brian and I got on the Mark Twain and enjoyed the tour around Tom Sawyer Island. Once back on land, we went over to the Golden Horseshoe, where there were few people in line. We were about a half hour early for the show and there was no one else from our party around. We really lucked out and got front row tables. I was a little concerned about how Brian and I would be able to save ten more seats, but we did and everybody showed up with time to spare. Liz got stuck in traffic (I think there had been an accident) and just barely made it before the show started. And Liz was the one most excited about seeing the show.
The front row was an excellent spot. Most of us were still wearing our pinwheels and there was quite a bit of interactivity from Billy Hill and our table, AJ in particular. At one point, he used his bow to play with her pinwheels, saying "ow, ow, ow, ow, ow" and then said "they're very sensitive, aren't they?". Then he looked up at the audience and said "you have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?". It was really a lot of fun, a very memorable time. I think next year, someone is going to get us all those fake teeth and when he puts his in, we'll put ours in. *heh heh heh*
After the show was finished (some fine, fine fiddle playing, if you go to Disneyland and have the chance to see this show, please do it, you won't be disappointed) we walked over to the Haunted Mansion where we picked up fastpasses for the Haunted Mansion Holiday. I found out on this trip that Brian really doesn't care for the HM, regardless of the time of year. He said the only reason he likes it in the summer is it's cool inside. You learn something every day.
Then we went on the canoes, something I haven't done in years.
Susan took this picture of us in the canoe; in the third row from the front,
you can see Peggy on the right side, then Brian and me, Eric and Jon, AJ and LizThis was a very fun ride. Our group was trying hard to go really fast, but unfortunately, the other passengers didn't have it together nearly as well as we did, which resulted in many of us getting wet. I kept yelling at Jon because I thought he was doing it on purpose. Poor Peggy kept knocking oars with the kid in front of her. But we did get back to shore with no major injuries. Our guide, at the end of the ride, stood up and said "I've had bad crews and I've had good crews. But you're my favorite. You're my last. Now, get out". I did try walking off with the oar, but that wasn't on purpose, I was just in lala land. I felt pretty silly when the cast member asked me for the oar. Oh, you mean birthday girls don't get to keep them?
